Key facts about the D3 motorway
Routing the D3 motorway along a separate western corridor will create an alternative connection between the Benešov area and Prague, easing pressure on the D1. The motorway runs north to south (Prague – Benešov – Tábor – České Budějovice – Dolní Dvořiště) and forms part of the national motorway network plan adopted by government resolution no. 741 of 1999.
Its main purpose is to link Prague with South Bohemia and connect the Tábor and České Budějovice regions to the national motorway network. The existing I/3 road is inadequate in both capacity and safety, so the D3 will make traffic flow more smoothly and safely.
For Manělovice this means above all better transport links and faster connections, not only to Prague but to the entire southern part of the country. We also expect traffic on the existing I/3 road to fall, improving quality of life for local residents.
